Exporting from India to Singapore: permits, product controls, and delivery

Confirm the Singapore importing entity and TradeNet arrangement, then add the separate checks needed for controlled or food products.

Confirm the importing arrangement

Ask the Singapore customer who will act as the importing entity and who will submit the declaration. Singapore Customs identifies the customs import permit and TradeNet as part of the import process. A forwarder may be involved, but the parties should still agree who supplies the product data and who checks the declaration.

Distinguish import for local consumption from transhipment, storage, or onward sale. Singapore’s role in a wider distribution route can affect what the customer needs from the shipment. Record the actual delivery point and intended movement rather than assuming that arrival at the port completes the transaction.

  • Name the importing entity and declaring contact.
  • State whether the goods remain in Singapore or move onward.
  • Confirm the services included in the freight quotation.

Research the product’s regulator

Check the product classification and whether another authority controls it. For food, Singapore Food Agency guidance distinguishes licensing, registration, and permit requirements for different activities and product groups. Ask the buyer to confirm the relevant category and any source or establishment conditions before accepting an order.

Keep the packaging, labelling, product specification, and supporting evidence consistent. Do not treat a sample’s admission or a prior shipment of a different product as approval for the present order. Save the official research links and the buyer’s current confirmation with the project.

Price the complete handover

Use Traderoz’s package and weight calculations to request comparable transport offers. Add destination handling, clearance-service charges, final delivery, and tax assumptions only when their basis is known. Show a dated conversion rate if the buying and selling currencies differ. Before dispatch, reconcile the proforma or commercial terms with the final packing information and ask the importing party to confirm permit readiness and document requirements.

  • Review TradeNet and any product-authority requirements separately.
  • Keep the destination tax calculation distinct from freight.
  • Save the approved shipment description and permit contact.
